Michael began his insurance career over 30 years ago, working in London where he specialized in the placement of marine and shipbuilding risks. For nearly twenty years, he worked for a multinational broker handling large risk management accounts and was the Construction Practice Leader for the Louisiana and the International Resource Group – Gulf South. Prior to joining Gallagher, he was the head of Louisiana operations for a large, regional broker. He joined the Gallagher family in 2015 as Regional Director of the Southeast Construction Practice.
As Managing Director, Michael is responsible for the coordination of all services, design of insurance plans, and negotiations with carriers. His areas of focus include: coordination of safety services, contract surety, alternative risk transfers, subcontractor default insurance, and large builders’ risk placements. He is also involved in the development and implementation of risk management programs for contractors and the design and marketing of both traditional and loss sensitive programs.
